Inayatiyya Employment
January 28, 2025
Dear Inayatiyya Friends,
After a successful fall appeal raising $181,387 ($21,387 over our goal of $160,000! Thank you!), we can confidently announce the following open positions, designed to better serve you, our close community, as well as all those drawn to our unique path of Sufism.
Director of Programs for North America & Oceania—This essential position, overseeing the Inayatiyya’s online program calendar as well as in-person programs in North America, is open again after a year-long hiatus. As you may remember, Julianna Takacs held this role for three years, leaving last March after purchasing a corner grocery store in New Hampshire.
The Director of Programs for North America & Oceania position is now retooled to oversee program strategy and design as well as logistics. (Full-time, 40 hours/week, either based in Richmond, Virginia or with the ability to travel to Astana for select events. We will consider those working fully remote. Candidates must be eligible to work within the United States.)
Executive Assistant/Front Desk Manager—Over the last year, this position has been split between Josh Octaviani (Executive Assistant) and Hayden Hobby (Front Desk Manager). On January 1st, Josh was promoted to Associate Director of Operations and is now focused on finance, human resources, facilities, and logistical support. Also, Hayden is with us on a short-term contract ending this winter and, while invited to apply for this position, has indicated that he prefers to work part-time, more actively out in the world within communities.
The Executive Assistant/Front Desk Manager position has been retooled, too, to provide higher level administrative assistance to the Executive Director as well as community/registration support to all who email, message, and/or call the Astana. (Full-time, 40 hours/week, based at the Astana in Richmond, Virginia. Candidates must be eligible to work within the United States.)
Inner School Administrator for North America & Oceania—You may know Isa Sophia who has served in this role for the last four years. While keeping her same title, Associate Director of Programs, Isa will now oversee all Pir Zia online classes and course logistics, including Suluk Academy.
The new Inner School Administrator position will focus on supporting Inner School Leaders Training, Inayatiyya Study Circles & Centers, and initiation and guidance questions for North America & Oceania. (Contractual 20-25 hours/week from anywhere in Canada, the United States, or Mexico)
Graphic Designers & Visual Artists—If you are a highly-skilled graphic designer and/or visual artist, we invite you to send your portfolio for consideration as we look to redesign our print collateral and digital assets. PLEASE EMAIL US!—THERE IS NO DUE DATE. (Contractual per project. May live anywhere in the world.)
If you are interested in any of the above positions, please apply by Sunday, February 16th, 2025. Final decisions will be made by early March. Start dates are negotiable.
All open positions may be found at inayatiyya.org/employment. Please always send new hire correspondence only to employ@inayatiyya.org, following given instructions. Thank you!
Please see all position details below, as well as hyperlinks above. We hope you feel called to apply!
With love,
Jennifer Alia Wittman
