We are delighted to announce the addition of a new member to the Inayatiyya International Board: Waseem Mahmood, who has been a murid with the Inayatiyya for the last few years.
Waseem is an award-winning broadcaster and strategic communications expert with over three decades of global media experience. Beginning as one of the youngest credited producers at BBC television, he went on to establish TV Asia, Europe’s first satellite channel for ethnic minorities, before developing major strategic communications projects across the Middle East, Pakistan, and Africa.
His work includes countering violent extremism through innovative media campaigns, most notably the “Yeh Hum Naheen” initiative that gathered a record-breaking 62.8 million signatures condemning terrorism. Author of the bestselling book “Good Morning Afghanistan,â based on his work in the country. Mahmood is now a Film/TV producer working on a feature film about Noor Inayat Khan. He was awarded an OBE in 2005 “for services to the reconstruction of media in post-war countries” and received the KAPPA lifetime achievement award for outstanding contributions to media.
His skills and passion are an excellent addition to the board, and we are looking forward to working with him.
