Through our day-long workshop, Raqib & Azar Baksh will lead us through a variety of themes exploring the interrelationship between science and mysticism, including:
– God and science – experiencing the vastness; Neoplatonic models; Pir Vilayat inverted cone model; consequences of our shift from Newtonian to quantum universe; relational spirituality with the aim of awakening in life; holographic nature of reality; retro-causality
– Experiencing that which transpires behind that which appears – subtle senses; subtle energy; implicate and explicit; holomovement; cosmic & transcendental consciousness; mandelbrot images; chaos theory and fana/baqa; research that shows the world is very different from how we assume it is; zikr practice to connect the many levels on which we exist
– Stereoscopic consciousness – maintaining different perspectives in the moment; multidimensionality; subtle realms of being; Bekenstein’s bound
– Beings of light in a universe of light – what is light?; light as the boundary between etheric and physical reality; light as awareness of individual and divine intelligence; practices with light; information and black holes; ecstasy beyond knowing practices; everyone and everything is Gabriel longing to reveal its unique divinity-
– Pull of the future – where to here?; how we each uniquely transform the divine impulse that brought about our being; new creation in every instant; fulfilling our purpose in life

Ivan Raqib IckovitsIvan Raqib Ickovits was born in a small town near Debrecen, Hungary to survivors from Auschwitz. After a few years in Hungary, his family escaped to Haifa, then Toronto, Canada, and finally to Los Angeles. Ivan studied at UCLA in quantum theory and particle physics, leading to a Ph.D. His teachers were Julian Schwinger and Richard Feynman (Nobel Prize winners in Physics), and he interned at Los Alamos National Labs in New Mexico in an effort to produce a functional controlled nuclear fusion to enable power generation. As a systems engineer, Ivan’s satellite projects included NASA and DoD programs: a Mars lander, Space Shuttle, Space Station, Deep Space Surveillance System, Defense Support Program, Brilliant Eyes, Chandra, a space x-ray scanning platform, and Star Wars involving space based and terrestrial high energy lasers. In the 1970s, after meeting Pir Vilayat, over time he became an Inayatiyya Representative, Cherag, Healing Conductor, Ziraat Farmer, senior teacher, guide and retreat guide mentor, as well as Pir Vilayat’s consultant on Physics, especially Bohm’s Quantum Physics, Wholeness and the Implicate Order. When Pir Vilayat would visit Southern California, Ivan and his wife, Jeanne, would often host him and often they would visit Pir Vilayat in Suresnes and in his summer solar powered home near Limoux and Carcassonne. Ivan would regularly update Pir Vilayat’s understanding of the planes of consciousness with charts. Pir Vilayat would often need to prepare to meet with physicists at conferences, where he would discuss consciousness, mysticism and science. Ivan had the honor of editing and offering suggestions to Pir Vilayat’s later works including Ecstacy Beyond Knowing and In Search of the Hidden Treasure.

Don Azar Baksh WeinerAzar Baksh Don Weiner is a senior teacher in the Inayatiyya and a retired Ph.D. psychologist. He has been teaching meditation to a variety of populations for over 50 years. He has written GPS for the Spiritual Journey and Upgrading the Operating System of the Soul: A Manual of Quantum Sufism (with a foreword by Pir Vilayat). He and his wife Ravani Rah Diane Weiner have written The Gabrielite Work – Broadband Spirituality for the 21st Century, Awakening as a Human*Divine Being, and Beyond the Wonderful- Transforming the World with the Light of Your Being. They have developed a synthesis of their work together over the years called the Gabrielite Work, which offers advanced spiritual methodology integrating contemporary scientific discoveries with the wisdom of ancient Sufi traditions, as well as the teachings of Hazrat Inayat Khan, Pir Vilayat, and Pir Zia.
