The mystics fly to the Named with wings of noble angels, to the Essence of essences, without description, and It sends them back with the spirit of the names. – Ibn ´Arabi
We invite you to explore a mine of unfathomably vast spiritual treasures in the community of like-hearted seekers: the Divine Names. We will approach these sacred names through their sound, explore the layers of meaning they encompass through their etymological roots and their reference in the Holy Qur’an, in the teachings of the Sufis and especially of our Inayatiyya lineage, and immerse ourselves in their mysteries through invocation in sacred remembrance.
This monthly series is led by Zumurrud Butta and Naima Brown, together with our dear friend and special guest teacher Omid Safi.
Classes are on Thursdays, February 9th, March 16th, April 13th and May 11th from 2-3:30 pm New York Time, 8-9:30 pm Central Europe Time.
Our course is open to Inayatiyya inquirers, ashiqs, murids and leaders, and recommends consulting an Inayatiyya Spiritual Guide when doing the given practices on one’s own.
The Divine Names series requires advanced registration and provides video recordings if you are unable to attend every class. A suggested tuition of $48 ($12 per class) is recommended for the whole course, and a reduced tuition price of $32 ($8 per class). Donations of any amount are also welcome, in lieu of tuition. Please see the sidebar to register and more details.
If you have questions about the content of the course, please email innerschool@inayatiyya.org. Questions about registration, payments, and logistical details may be sent to astana@inayatiyya.org.
