Oneness
The Astana, 112 E Cary Street, Richmond, Virginia
Saturday, November 2nd, 2024
What is the experience of Oneness? When does our essential nature show itself? How do we become Oneness in everyday life?
At this one-day gathering, including meditation, teachings, ritual, and music, we will experiment with the concept and experience of Oneness. As part of this unique day, Pir Zia welcomes special guest Yuval Ron for a concert of Middle Eastern Sufi music. You can read more about Yuval below.

Yuval Ron is one of the most prolific presenters of Sufi music in the United States. He offers passionate, soulful and devotional Sufi sacred music arranged for the Middle Eastern lute, known as the oud. Contemplative, meditative and deeply moving, his concerts showcase the various expressive sounds of the oud, an ancient biblical instrument that was used to inspire prophets and poets.
Yuval is an award-winning composer, record producer, touring and performance artist, peace activist, a story teller, author and educator, who began playing the oud with the Bedouin tribes in the Sinai desert. Later on, he worked with Turkish, Iraqi, Palestinian and Armenian master-musicians. His style of playing is also influenced by Gypsy-Flamenco, Andalusian, Blues and Jazz music. Yuval was invited to perform meditative music for the Dalai Lama and the Sufi Sheikh Sidi Muhammad, and has collaborated with numerous master musicians including Omar Faruk Tekbilek, Sukhawat Ali Khan, Khawaja Ehrari, Estrella Morente, Deva Premal, and with the Zen Buddhist priest and master artist Hirokazu Kosaka. yuvalron.com
