Discovering the Spirit of Guidance w/ Pir Zia Inayat Khan

Just as our bodies are particles of the universe in which we live, our minds are particles of the universal mind and our souls are particles of the universal soul. And just as each cell contains the code of the whole body, each configuration of body, mind, and soul contains the imprint of the universal being and lives in ongoing communion with it, if only unconsciously.
When the human being makes this communion conscious, marvelous transformations occur. One then becomes part of the universe’s awakening to itself. In its function as the source of illumination in the life of individuals, communities, and species, the universal being is called the Spirit of Guidance.
In this retreat we will contemplatively explore the nature of the Spirit of the Guidance and the meaning it holds for the unfoldment of the purpose of our lives.

Pir Zia Inayat KhanPir Zia Inayat Khan, PhD, is a scholar of religion and teacher of Sufism in the universalist Sufi lineage of his grandfather, Hazrat Inayat Khan. Pir Zia is president of the Inayatiyya and founder of Sulūk Academy, a school of Sufi contemplative study and practice. He is the author of Immortality: A Traveler’s Guide; Mingled Waters: Sufism and the Mystical Unity of Religions; Saracen Chivalry: Counsels on Valor, Generosity and the Mystical Quest; and the editor and compiler of Dream Flowers: The Collected Works of Noor Inayat Khan, for which he also wrote the critical introduction.
