Dearest friends,

On this last day of the Gregorian Calendar, common year 2022, we again thank you for so generously giving toward our fall appeal. As of this morning, we have raised $173,942, significantly more than our goal of $150,000. If you still feel called to give by year-end, to help us to reach $175,000 or over, this would be most appreciated! Over the last seven days we have collectively raised another $20,695 toward the Inayatiyya’s Fall Appeal 2022. Our grand total for the appeal is now $134,122. We are eternally grateful for the many gifts you give in support of our community and lineage.

Many thanks to the World Wide Message Council, our teachers, guides, and leaders, for all that you give.  Also especially to Pir Zia for leading us Toward the One and only goal.

It is not too late to receive a complimentary excerpt of Pir Zia’s forthcoming title, Immortality: A Traveler’s Guide. We are extending the deadline by one more day. If you make a donation by tonight (Dec 24th), the excerpt will be in your email on Monday.

Caged Bird by Maya Angelou

A free bird leaps
on the back of the wind
and floats downstream
till the current ends
and dips his wing
in the orange sun rays
and dares to claim the sky.

But a bird that stalks
down his narrow cage
can seldom see through
his bars of rage
his wings are clipped and
his feet are tied
so he opens his throat to sing.

The caged bird sings
with a fearful trill

It is such a joy to be part of the Astana staff; this amazing group of talented and dedicated people who provide the underpinning, both seen and unseen, to support Pir Zia’s work, the work of our Seven Activities and the Inayatiyya’s global network. (See Astana staff details here.)

It has been such a pleasure to work together internationally to collaborate, brainstorm and form friendships along the way as we share a commitment to this precious work. Any contribution you make this year helps to support our efforts!

Dear friends,

We are pleased to announce Pir Zia’s forthcoming title, Immortality: A Traveler’s Guide, published by Suluk Press.

Immortality: A Traveler’s Guide is comprised of 180 selections of Hazrat Inayat Khan’s teachings from The Soul Whence and Whither, accompanied by Pir Zia’s commentary and contemplative practices related to each theme. This book stands on its own, but can also be used as a stepping stone to further study of Inayat Khan’s teachings on the soul.

All who give toward the Inayatiyya’s Fall Appeal by Friday, December 23rd, 2022, will receive an advanced excerpt of Immortality, expected in print spring 2023. Excerpts will be sent out on Monday, December 26th, 2022.
