Spirituality & Social Justice
In response to the question, “Should the Inayatiyya, a spiritual organization, involve itself in activities related to social justice?,” Pir Zia writes:
Spirituality can be understood in different ways. Hazrat Inayat Khan defined spirituality as “the fullness of life.” According to this understanding, no aspect of human life is separable from spirituality. The purpose of the spiritual path, then, is not to detach oneself from the embodied human experience of living on earth interdependently with other beings, but rather to bring all aspects of life, and all relationships, into fruitful harmony in the realization of the omnipresence of the One.
